Upgrading your security

Once we have moved to the new server, you email setting will not need any changes to work. However, to take advantage of the new servers security entrancement. These instructions are Windows Outlook users and will give setting to change for other email clients at the bottom of this page.

  • Lets first change your email password to meet the systems requirements. There are several ways of doing this.
  • Go to ISPConfig control panel: https://mailbox.grindersbox.com:8080/
  • As a email user:
    • Login with your email address and password.
    • Once logged in click on Password and there you can change you email password.
    • Now click Save.
  • As an email/web admin account
    • Login with your admin username and password.
    • Click on Email at the top of the page.
    • Now on the left side click on Email Mailbox.
    • Now find the email account you want to change the password on and click on it.
    • Here you can change the password and many other settings of the email account.
    • Don’t forget to chick save.
  • Give the system a minute or two to make the changes you have requested. At the top of the page to the left of the search will be a red number. If the number is not there the tasks are done. The number represents the number of requests to having to process.

One Your computer:

  • First close out of Outlook.
  • Click on the Start button and type in Control Panel. On Windows 10 when you click on the start button there is nowhere to type. Just start typing and a window will show up.
  • Once in the Control Panel. In the upper right hand part of the window is a search. Type in Mail. An Icon will come up called Mail (Microsoft Outlook 20XX). Double click on this.
  • Mail Setup window will come up. Click on Email Accounts…
  • You will see a list of email account setup. Most people will only have one account. Find you account on our server and double click on it.
  • You will see two box’s (Incoming mail server: and Outgoing mail server (SMTP)) Both box’s will have web.grindersbox.com. You need to change both box’s to mailbox.grindersbox.com.
  • Next click on More Settings…
  • Click on Advanced
  • You will find under Server Port Numbers:
    • Two box’s Use the following type of encrypted connection: This right now are set to None. Change both of these to STARTTLS
    • Next Under Outgoing server (SMTP) this is currently set to 25. change it to 2525
  • Your Done. click OK. Then Next. It will test the connection. click closed. then Finish. last click close. Exit out of Mail Setup and Start Outlook.

One last thing we suggest is to login to the control panel and change your email password. The server will prevent you from using a easy password that could easily be hacked. You can access the control panel here: https://mailbox.grindersbox.com:8080

For other email clients other that outlook here are the setting that need to be changed:

  • POP/IMAP and SMTP: currently set to web.grindersbox.com needs to be changed to mailbox.grindersbox.com
  • Change your security from none to STARTTLS
  • Change SMTP port from 25 to 2525
